Corporate Sponsors for Science Fair Prizes Needed

Each spring, volunteers from the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics National Capital Section (AIAA NCS) judge aerospace-related projects at local regional high school science fairs, awarding thousands of dollars of prizes annually – including a week at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center’s Space Camp / Aviation Challenge (http://www.spacecamp.com). Over the past decade, NCS has expanded the number of science fairs to include the entire scope of the section’s geographic domain - from the shores of the Chesapeake Bay to the border of West Virginia. AIAA NCS members are now judging all eight DC-area regional science fairs: Arlington/Alexandria/Falls Church, Fairfax Co., Loudoun Co., Prince William Co., Washington, DC, Montgomery Co., Prince Charles Co., and Prince George's Co. (which includes St Mary’s and Calvert Counties), providing prizes valued at over $13,000.

We need your help!

In order to continue to reach out and inspire the future generation of the nation’s best and brightest scientist and engineers, we need corporate sponsors to help offset the costs of the science fair awards. Tax deductible donations to AIAA NCS of $500 or $1000 will help us continue our efforts to promote science and engineering among middle school and high school students.

In return for your sponsorship, AIAA NCS will recognize your company in all science fair e-mailings, materials provided to science fair participants, AIAA NCS newsletters, and various other events. Last year's sponsors – The U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Aerojet, AeroAstro, BAE Systems, Ball Aerospace, Integrity Applications, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman TASC and Rockwell Collins – were advertised via 7 different venues. We hope to have even more sponsors for 2008!
