 Scope and Purpose

 

Introduction

The SRTC is committed to promoting the development and use of solid propulsion technology throughout the aerospace industry.

Purpose

The purpose of the Solid Rockets Technical Committee (SRTC) is to advance the arts, sciences, and technology of solid propulsion and to nurture and promote the professionalism of those engaged in these pursuits.

Objective

The SRTC shall foster the dissemination of new knowledge, further the professional development of those engaged in solid rocket propulsion activities, improve public understanding of the profession and its contributions, foster education in solid rocket propulsion engineering adn science, promote communication among engineers and scientists and with other professional groups, and simulate outstanding professional accomplishments.

AIAA has a Social Media Policy! Many committees (along with regions, sections and branches) have "unofficial"-official AIAA pages on Facebook, Twitter, etc. The policy isn't meant to be a set of rules that would constrain activity on those pages; it just outlines what the Institute would consider to be inappropriate content for an AIAA-branded page and explains what to do in the case of a hack or account compromise.
